Let other parents know you are waiting

The single most powerful thing you can do for your child, and for every other child in their class, is to make it visible that you are waiting. When enough parents in a year group do this, the question changes from "why don't I have a phone?" to "nobody in my class has one yet."

I support Turning the Tide Skerries. I intend to follow the digital pathway for my child, and I will talk openly with other parents in their class so that no child in Skerries feels they are the only one waiting.

The pledge is renewed each year. Every August, before the new school year starts, we ask families, clubs and schools to sign again, so that it becomes a normal part of the back to school list alongside the uniform and the books.

Your children

Signing this pledge is a statement of intent, not a contract. Circumstances change and families know their own children best. Your details are held by the Turning the Tide Skerries committee, used only to show the strength of the community and, if you choose, to connect you with other parents in your child's year. We will never share them with anyone else, and you can ask us to remove them at any time.
